Sorry for the delay this week. Found out my coughing problem was due to me having pneumonia. So without further delay here is the CTC crew discussing a delightful little film called Lars and the Real Girl. It stars Ryan Gosling as a young man who begins a relationship with a sex doll he bought off of the Internet. The film is not a raunchy comedy however, it is a beautiful film about the need for companionship, humanity, and how some people have to work through grief.
We also have our new release news, which unfortunately is a little dated now, but still fun and informative.
This week Garvis 2 and Brett tackle the surreal world of Alejandro Jodorowsky's The Holy Mountain, a film for which neither of them was completely prepared. In addition there's new release news, Free Comic Book Day talk, and discussion of the works of David Lynch and Takashi Miike.
This week the Cinema Toast Crunch crew dive into their first documentary with the story of a man and his amazing topiary garden, A Man Named Pearl. In addition we talk about new releases on home video and in theaters. Garvis 2 talks a bit about the comic book history of the Guardians of the Galaxy and he and Brett have a lengthy discussion about Saturday Night Fever.
